Oakland TV station KTVU proudly proclaimed a "great accomplishment" to be first to report the names of the 4 pilots on the Asiana flight that crashed. Their News Director even bragged about how they are 100% accurate and never put a single piece of false information on the air when they broadcast their "exclusive". Then they had to admit their mistake 15 minutes later...if anyone there had actually looked at what they were broadcasting, they would have known they had been duped! If you haven't heard much about this story, this link gives the perfect screenshot and includes the video of the horrible broadcast mistake by this station that bragged about never broadcasting false information:

The UK will begin teaching computer science to all children ages 5 to 14 after their study found that children were only being taught how to how Microsoft Word and Excel on Windows, something they said was so harmful and boring that it had to be stopped. In the US, computer programming is only taught in 10% of high schools! Only 14,517 US students took the AP computer science test while 194,784 students took the AP calculus test. Sadly, most US schools apparently just teach how to use Word and PowerPoint:

Rumors were published this week that Dish might buy Leap Wireless after not being able to buy Sprint and Clearwire, but AT&T just bought Leap for $15/share (about 100% over Leap's stock value). AT&T wants to switch Cricket from its CDMA network to AT&T's GSM/LTE network, but AT&T will use Cricket's retail locations and low-cost prepaid market share...but the real reason AT&T is paying so much is that Leap has PCS and AWS spectrum that match so nicely with AT&T's spectrum:

Sprint is offering new unlimited plans that guarantee unlimited calls, texting and data use for customers as long as they have their phone lines. This is a nice way for Sprint to differentiate themselves from the tiered plans that Verizon and AT&T are pushing. Clearwire's spectrum is seen as crucial for Sprint to be able to make this unlimited pledge:
