Japan's government admitted that they spent nearly $1 bil of the earthquake/tsunami disaster recovery effort funds on project unrelated to and in locations not affected by the disaster. Instead of rebuilding the devastated area with those funds, they spent money on cheese and wine party promotions, count sea turtles on beaches, etc.

The Obama administration has been secretly carrying out a domestic surveillance program by using the Patriot Act to collect business communications involving Americans. The highly classified court order directed Verizon Business Network services to give the NSA all call logs they wanted. The court order is just for calls made, not for the content of the communications. Verizon Business Network Services is one of the biggest telecom and Internet providers for US corporations:

Apple has reportedly inserted code into iOS to limit the maximum data speeds that iPhone and iPad customers can get on Verizon, AT&T and Sprint. A developer discovered code that limits AT&T's iPhone 5 to HSDPA "Category 10" (14.4 Mbps maximum) instead of the theoretical maximum of 21 Mbps AT&T's HSDPA+ network can reach and AT&T's LTE network can get even faster speeds than that. My guess is that the wireless providers forced Apple to do this...because I can't imagine Apple would purposely make their devices slower than Samsung's:
