Developer at Verizon was caught outsourcing his work to China, paying the Chinese worker less than 1/5 his salary to do his job. Verizon released his browsing history--before lunch he surfed Reddit and watched cat videos. After lunch he went on Ebay, Facebook, and LinkedIn, then he would write an update email to management about how his "work" went before going home! He apparently did this across several companies and made hundreds of thousands each year, only paying the Chinese consulting firm about $50k/year. He received excellent performance reviews, praised as the best developer in the building because of his clean, well-written, and prompt code. He got past security by FedExing his RSA token to China!

Selling coal from Montana and Wyoming to China will both boost the U.S. economy and reduce global emissions of greenhouse gases. The reason for this is that it would result in U.S. electric utilities to use more natural gas generators instead of coal power plants to produce electricity while China would burn the same amount of coal if they get it from the U.S. or elsewhere. It turns out that coal from the U.S., even after transportation costs, is less than what China is paying for coal now and China has a HUGE demand for coal since they built tons of coal power plants to fuel their economic growth:

Survey shows that Samsung's smartphone momentum is at an all-time high--5% of North American smartphone buyers planned to buy a Samsung smartphone in September 2011 and that increased to 21% in December 2012. 50% of smartphone customers planned to buy an iPhone during the first half of 2013, but that is down from 71% the previous quarter:

This is a really sad story and Temple University should be ashamed of themselves. A punter on their football team was dating a starter on their women's volleyball team and he did NOT handle their break up well. He kicked down a door, screamed as the poor girl and threatened her life! He continued to stalk and harass her and was found in violation of a long list of violations of school policy (intimidation or assault, property damage, sign-in procedures, alcohol policy, disorderly conduct) and his punishment was basically NOTHING. His suspension ended before the start of the football season so he didn't miss any games...while his terrified ex had to have her mother sleep in her dorm room for months because she was so scared and couldn't sleep. When she said that the school should discipline her ex, the school *kicked her off the volleyball team and took away her scholarship*!!!
