The Intel Science Talent Search is considered the nation's most elite and demanding high school research competition, attracting I think that it is really neat that Natalie Portman was a brilliant science student when she was growing up, making it all the way to the semifinal rounds of the Intel Science Talent Search--that is a really impressive achievement. I also think that it is neat that Natalie never asked for an extension or to be excused from school work--if she had an appearance on the Letterman show and was going to be out of town, she just finished her paper early:
