The doctor who used fake data to "prove" that there was a link between autism and vaccination of children has been revealed to have planned to make a lot of money by making up his autism/vaccination claim.  He predicted to investors that he could make up to $43 million a year from the diagnostic kits his company would sell to parents who were scared by his "revalations" about how vaccinations were the source of autism:

Marine company in Afghanistan says it cut down on its generators' fuel consumption by nears *90%* by utilizing solar power. The reduction in fuel needs reduces the number of convoys needed to transport oil to the base, reducing the opportunities that insurgents have to shoot or blow up their convoys. They also found a surprising benefit that they had not expected--using the generators less at night cuts down on noise that can tip insurgents off to their positions:

December was the first month that Android ad market share passed Apple's iOS market share--Android didn't just pass Apple, Android was at 46% of the ad market and iOS was at 32%.  Android ad revenue rose *3130%* in 2010!  Android will probably increase its lead even further in January...and then it will be interesting to see how quickly Apple comes back once the iPhone is on Verizon:
