Verizon has officially ended their New Every Two program, which means that subscribers won't be getting the $100 or $50 credits towards a new smartphone every 20 months. People can still get the NE2 credit coming to them from their next phone, but won't get any NE2 credit after that...I'm glad that I got my NE2 credit last year, so I'll get one more credit. Verizon also has ended their policy of letting subscribers upgrade to new phones early--for example, I upgraded to my Droid X (and got a $50 NE2 credit) when it was just 16 months after my previous phone upgrade:

I found it interesting to read what the experts and analysts are saying about the impact of Verizon getting the iPhone will have. The biggest winner in this I think is Apple, as they will get Verizon customers to go with them instead of Android (which has been outselling the iPhone) and will get T-Mobile and Sprint customers who didn't want to go to AT&T to get the iPhone now:

Survey conducted at CES found that an overwhelming number of iPhone, BlackBerry, and Android users said that they would switch to a Verizon iPhone, even paying early termination fees with their current provider to move to Verizon. Companies like Gazelle will pay for used iPhones ($430 for a used iPhone 4!), which will help users pay off their early termination fees:

A CDMA iPad is coming soon to Verizon--probably when the iPad 2 is released this Spring. This news is not surprising at all since Verizon is selling the current iPad (bundled with a MiFi) and Apple already created the CDMA iPhone:
