Fort Bliss Army commanders are planning to use solar, wind, geothermal, and biomass renewable power sources to get their base completely off the grid in 4 years.  Military bases are increasingly turning to renewable energy to reduce their carbon footprint and avoid disruption in the event of a terrorist attack:

The F-15 (used most prominently in the 1991 Gulf War) has been identified as the US's best military response to China's stealth fighter.  Three years ago some people had declared that the F-15 was unfit for duty (after a F-15 disintegrated in midair) because it was so old, and now it turns out that after getting new Raytheon radars, the F-15 will have a crucial role in US Air strategy:

LightSquared is having some regulatory problems in getting permission for establishing their wholesale LTE network.  The NTIA has warned that LightSquared's network could interfere with systems such as DoD communications:

Verizon's CEO said that Apple never intended for the original iPhone to be on Verizon--Apple wanted a GSM phone that could be sold throughout the world, so AT&T was their best option. He also said that Apple will benefit by being on Verizon because the relationship will help Apple get a LTE phone ready for all the LTE development that will be done over the next year:

LG released one of the Windows Phone 7 smartphones available at launch and they are one of Microsoft's key vendors for Windows Phone 7...and they sure sound unhappy with the launch of Windows Phone 7.  Note that Microsoft has trumpted the number of Windows Phone 7 smartphones *shipped* to stores, but never mentions how many WP7 devices have actually been sold:

NCL and Royal Caribbean are moving their cruise ships out of Long Beach because of the drop in popularity of cruises to Mexico.  Cruise travel was up overall last year, but the violence in Mexico has driven down the Southern California to Mexico cruises:
