Monkeypox, a virus related to smallpox, has been increasing dramatically in Congo, with outbreaks in other African nations and even the US:

MIT team proposed the Boeing D series, which would replace the 737 passenger workhorse (responsible for 25% of the fuel used by the airplane industry) and use 70% less fuel, emit 75% less nitrogen oxide, and have much quieter takeoffs and landings:

For the first time Nielsen has found that Android is the most popular operating system among US smartphone buyers, with Apple and BlackBerry basically tied for second.  BlackBerry still has the most market share among smartphone owners, but it appears that when people replace their BlackBerries they are increasingly switching to Android.  Apple's market share has remained consistently around 28%, so BlackBerry's loss has been Android's gain:

T-Mobile will join AT&T to announce Windows Phone 7 devices when it debuts next week.  It is interesting that AT&T apparently got the agenda modified to remove T-Mobile's name when the announcement went out earlier today, causing some confusion as to whether or not T-Mobile would actually be present at the launch event:
