Boeing won an $89 million DARPA contract to build a solar-powered spyplane that will be designed to fly continuously for 5 years at 65,000 feet.  Boeing's spyplane only has to fly continuously for 1-3 months by 2014:

Study found that most terrorism in Britain is being done by British citizens.  The survey found that almost half of offenders had their origins in south Asia, including 28% who were Pakistani, with at least 80% of those people British citizens.  75% of the major plots in Britain contained members who had trained in Pakistan, with half of the leaders of the plot links to Pakistani based terrorist groups:

Scientists say that the oil-eating bacteria that suddenly took charge in the Gulf of Mexico after the oil spill may have gotten a jump start from natural gas.  The Deepwater Horizon oil spill also released natural gasses such as propane and ethane--bacteria that eat hydrocarbons began ingesting those gases, which could have primed them to become more active and attack the more complex oil released into the water:

Microsoft said that its Windows Phone 7 platform will only work on GSM networks at launch, which means that it won't be on Verizon or Sprint.  Verizon confirmed that they won't have any Windows Phone 7 devices this year and may or may not have them next year.  Microsoft will spend $1 billion to launch Windows Phone 7, including $500 million for marketing, but their exclusion of Verizon must make Google/Android very happy:
