LOTD for August 27

Lockheed is getting a contract to build an unmanned helicopter that will deliver supplies to forward-positioned troops.  The prototype helicopter already demonstrated it could move 3,000 pounds of cargo across 150 nautical miles within 6 hours without any input from ground operators aside from being told the destination and route:

Error in their application cost New Jersey *$400 million* in federal education funding.  The New Jersey Governor's administration had come to an agreement with their teacher's union on an earlier version of the application but the Governor's administration hastily rewrote the application and threw out the agreed-to changes...so, the political fallout of the $400 million lost will be significant.  The application asked for budget information comparing the 2008 and 2009 school years, but New Jersey's application lost points because they submitted the numbers comparing this year to 2011...that was literally a $400 million mistake:

Facebook claims that it has the trademark on companies with the words "face" or "book", so companies with the word "book" in their name will need to change their names.  Facebook is also trying to trademark the word "face":
