LOTD for August 20

The UK government apparently thought that they could stop stories about Snowden by idiotically destroying hard drives at the Guardian newspaper's office.  With today's technology, how did they expect that to stop stories from being written...they probably just insured a fresh batch of stories:

California has by far the most people working in science and engineering of all states in the US.  In fact, the 786,653 people in science and engineering jobs means that about 1 in 7 science and engineering US workers are in California.  New York and Texas are the states with the next most science and engineering workers...and California has more tech workers than New York and Texas combined!
