Islamic extremists in Nigeria burned students alive during an attack on a boarding school.  They set the school dorm on fire while the 10-15 year old students were sleeping...students who tried to escape the burning building were shot.  At least 29 students and a teach are dead:

Redlands school officials appear to have ignored state law by not informing authorities about abuse allegations.  The teacher in question was charged with 41 sex felony crimes involving 3 boys (all minors) who were her students.  The teacher gave birth to a child on June 18 and the 17-year-old boy who was the father was present at the hospital for the birth.  The teacher faces up to 29 years in prison:

A former Amtrak clerk was convicted of receiving more than $650k in disability and insurance payments after faking injuries.  She escaped to Mexio and taunted law enforcement officials, incluiding sending a tweet saying "Catch me if you can"...and now she has been arrested in Mexico:

China's booming economy has resulted in wealthy Chinese citizens buying up expensive houses in the US, boosting the US housing market.  Other foreign buyers pay a median of $276k on US homes, but the median price for Chinese buyers is $425k, with 70% of Chinese deals made in all cash.  The hot spots for Chinese buyers are Palo Alto, Menlo Park and Cupertino, markets that are NOT cheap:

T-Mobile getting the iPhone resulted in a big boost in the iPhone's smartphone market share in the most recent quarter.  The iPhone went from 38.4% last year to 41.9% this year while Android went from 51.9% last year to 52% this year.  Windows Phone went from 3.7% in the year-ago quarter to 4.6% this year's quarter.  How did the iPhone and Windows Phone increase their market share?  BlackBerry went from 4.6% to 0.7%:
