Mysterious new virus that started in the Middle East spreads easily between people and also within hospitals.  MERS appears to be similar to SARS, but MERS appears to be even deadlier--SARS killed 8% of afflicted people, MERS killed *65%* of the people involved in the outbreak in Saudi Arabia:

Sprint had to do this to keep their SoftBank deal--Sprint increased their offer for Clearwire stock to $5/share, beating Dish's $4.40/share offer.  Clearwire shareholders didn't like Sprint's $3.40/share offer, but they appear to be satisfied with the $5/share offer:

Microsoft came really close to buying Nokia, as recently as earlier this month, but talks broke down and negotiations aren't likely to resume:

Facebook is doing a trial in San Francisco and Palo Alto where they will offer free WiFi to people who will let Facebook know where they are so that Facebook can sell that money to their advertisers:
