LOTD for May 8

Syrian hackers took over The Onion's Twitter feed on Monday and posted anti-Israel and pro-Syrian government messages.  This sounds like something that the Onion would do (and they did something similar to this in the past), but this time the hacking was real.  The Onion has already parodied the hack against them:

HP's investors are so upset with HP's purchase of Autonomy that they filed a $1 bil class-action lawsuit against HP's top management and board of directors.  HP's current CEO (who was a board member that voted for the deal back then), their previous CEO, HP's former chairman, and 5 others are named in the lawsuit.  HP paid $11 bil for Autonomy and has already written off $8.8 bil from their value of their Autonomy acquisition.  HP did just *3 weeks* of due diligence on that $11 bil acquisition!

Nokia's CEO came under fierce attack at their company's annual shareholder meeting, with shareholders telling him that his Windows Phone strategy isn't working and asking for Nokia to move to a different platform.  Nokia's CEO (who came from Microsoft) refused those suggestions and said that Windows Phone is the best choice for Nokia.  When Nokia was unfavorably compared to Apple, Nokia's CEO questioned whether Apple was "still cool".  But if he's saying that Apple isn't cool, what is Nokia?

28-year-old Middle School teacher chocked on a hot dog before a Chicago Cubs game on Sunday and never recovered.  She was kept alive until yesterday so that doctors could harvest her organs for donation:
