LOTD for June 28

The Army will finally be providing a new data network with the hardware to operate it that will allow more than a thousand troops to rapidly send voice, text, imagery and data across a warzone and to a soldier on patrol.  The soldiers will be using a modified Motorola Atrix running Android, finally meeting the vision of WIN-T that started development in 1996:

Russia and India are already testing a new supersonic cruise missile that they developed together that can go Mach 2.  They are also developing a hypersonic missile capable of going up to Mach 7 from sea-, land- and air-launched platforms that will be ready for flight tests in 2017:

T-Mobile's CEO resigned because he's going to join Vodafone as chief of their northern and central Europe areas. He was going to leave at the end of September, but they sped up his resignation after he told them he was joining Vodafone (who owns 45% of Verizon Wireless):

I think that it is amazing that Asus was able to meet Google's requirements to build a high-end tablet that could sell at $200, with just 4 months from start to shipping commercial product:

Animal rescue advocate is planning to break the Guinness World Record for the Most Expensive Wedding for Animals--the record is $32k, but she is planning a *$200k* wedding for her adopted dog.  She still needs to find a "groom" and is asking owners of male dogs to submit their suitors via Facebook:
