Research found that the emergence of the first plants on Earth 470 million years ago triggered a series of ice ages. The plants apparently cause global cooling due to a dramatic reduction in atmospheric carbon. The first plants included the ancestors to mosses that extracted calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and iron from rockets to grow, which caused chemical weathering of the Earth's surface that significantly impacted the global carbon cycle and could have led to the mass extinction of marine life:

Pres. Obama is including initiatives to help small businesses and startups in the FY13 budget that will be released in 2 weeks that may get bipartisan support even in an election year. Survey by match.com found that iPhone users are the most likely to date someone they work with--almost 25% of single iPhone owners have dated someone from work in the last 5 years. iPhone users wait just 1 day to call after a first date, while Android and BlackBerry users wait 2-3 days to call. BlackBerry users are the most likely to drink alcohol on the first date (72%). Android users are the most likely to have 1-night stands (55%). Android users are also the most likely to have sex on the first date (62%), compared to 57% of iPhone users and 48% of BlackBerry users:

Best Buy Mobile is giving a $50 gift card to anyone who upgrades in 2012 to a new phone through Best Buy. The deal applies to Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile customers and the sign-up deadline is 2/12/12, though the phone can be purchased as late as 12/31/12. I signed up for this and received my email confirmation already--there is no obligation to upgrade the phone through Best Buy, so there is no harm in signing up for this now and seeing if Best Buy is the best option later:
