LOTD for April 2

BTIG Research conducted more than 1,000 speed tests in New York City and found out that the HTC Thunderbolt using Verizon's LTE network "blows away" the speeds that the HTC EVO 4G got over Sprint's WiMAX network. They found that Verizon's network was consistently and significantly faster than Sprint's 4G phone. Verizon's network averaged 9Mbps down and 5 Mbps up while Sprint's WiMAX network had about 1 Mbps up and down. Verizon's LTE speeds peaked at 19 Mbps down and 10 Mbps up! They also found that Verizon's network was more reliable and had better coverage than Sprint. The HTC 4G device for Verizon had better battery life than the HTC 4G device for Sprint:

Flotsam from the massive debris from Japan's tsunami and earthquake will be washing up on Washington, Oregon and California beaches 1 to 3 years from now, then the currents will take it to Hawaii, then back to Asia. The current circulation is known as the North Pacific gyre:

Research found that blood sugar levels spike after eating a high-fat meal, with the spike DOUBLING if the person drank coffee. Saturated fat interferes with the ability to clear sugars from the blood and coffee makes that much worse, with that sugar in the blood for long periods damaging our body's organs. Blood sugar levels of healthy
people actually jump to levels of people at risk for diabetes. I guess I'm glad that I drink my coffee in the morning and I don't eat high-fat meals then:

Regular meals and snacks are recommended for children to prevent lead poisoning. Studies found that having a regular breakfast results in lower blood lead levels in kids:
