LOTD for January 6

Inventor has designed an escalator-like ladder to help firefighters rescue people much quicker than they can with the current ladder system.  The hydraulic ladder lets the firefighter climb twice as fast as they do now on a ladder, but the big thing is that right now it takes 15 minutes to carry one person down a ladder from 10 stories high and the escalator can get *4* people to the ground in less than 4 minutes:

AT&T had criticized T-Mobile for called HSPA+ a 4G solution...until this week, when AT&T has started calling its HSPA+ plans for the first half of 2010 its "4G" service.  AT&T also had criticized Verizon for moving so quickly with LTE, saying that it would wait until a year after Verizon because there wouldn't be any LTE devices until a year after Verizon started its LTE service...until this week, when AT&T announced that it would accelerate the deployment of its LTE network and would launch LTE by the middle of this year instead of waiting until 2012:
