It is sad to read that Yahoo is laying off 5% of their workforce right before Christmas...those 650 people who are going to lose their jobs will be starting their Holiday Season on a really bad note:

The BlackBerry Torch is really selling well on AT&T--it appears that RIM sold about the same number of BlackBerrys last quarter as Apple sold iPhones!

Article speculating about whether or not Android's success will result in the death of the BlackBerry platform.  A year ago BlackBerry had 90% of Verizon's smartphones and now Android has 80% of Verizon's smartphones.  With Android and iOS dominating what consumers say they plan to get for their next smartphone, the BlackBerry platform is getting squeezed:

Report says that Verizon is stockpiling iPhones that will be available for sale right after Christmas--AT&T apparently asked for iPhone exclusivity through Christmas to maximize AT&T's sales.  The shocking thing to me is that the report says that the Verizon iPhone is an *LTE* phone and that they will market it as the only "LTE iPhone", exclusive to Verizon.  All I can confirm is that the 4 Verizon stores I went into recently all had a lot more employees than usual and that type of staffing up and training really does indicate the iPHone is coming soon to Verizon.  However, I doubt the LTE part of the rumor:

Sprint said that it has no plans to buy Clearwire.  Sprint also announced that they have an agreement to reduce their voting rights below 50% without reducing their economic stake in Clearwire...so, Sprint avoids any liquidity risk if Clearwire defaults on its debt:

I was on the ESPN NBA home page today--Larry Coon twittered that we were having lunch today ("Having lunch today with Dr. Garret Okamoto -- who was hugely influential & helpful in getting the first version of my FAQ off the ground."):
