LOTD for December 13

The FAA has lost track of 119,000 of the 357,000 private and commercial aircraft in the US.  The FAA said that criminals could buy planes without the government's knowledge and that they could use the registration number of other planes to evade new computer systems that are supposed to be able to track suspicious flights.  To try to fix this problem, the FAA ordered all aircraft owners to re-register their planes:

Last week, executives from both AT&T Mobility (NYSE:T) and Sprint Nextel (NYSE:S) hinted at a similar kind of pricing paradigm.
Verizon's CEO indicated that Verizon may soon offer a "family plan" for mobile data, where customers can buy different sizes of buckets of data to share among multiple devices.  AT&T and Sprint have also hinted that they will go to a shared bucket of data for subscribers:
