UH researchers say that the Leeward side of Hawaiian Islands may be ideal for future ocean-based renewable energy plants that would use seawater from the ocean to drive massive heat engines and produce steady amounts of renewable energy.  Placing a heat engine between warm water collected at the ocean's surface and cold water from the deep ocean, the heat flows from the warm reservoir to the cool one to spin a turbine and generate electricity:

Clearwire is aggressively trying to get iPhone, iPad, and iTouch users away from AT&T. For $25 per month, a customer can get *4G* (WiMAX) data service (3-6 Mbps downlink) for *8* WiFi-enabled Apple mobile devices! That is much less than the $40/month normal Clearwire customers pay and Apple customers don't even need to sign a contract. AT&T offers no-contract plans at 200 MB $15/month or 2GB for $25/month per device...Clearwire will give unlimited data access to 8 Apple devices for $25/month!

MSNBC was much more negative towards BlackBerry 6 with their article "Underwhelming BlackBerry spells doom for RIM". The article points out that BlackBerry's top new model has a 624 MHz processor (most top new models have 1 GHz processors) and had notable sluggishness with its interface and software, and the 360x480 screen has 1/3 the pixels in the same space as the iPhone screen:

Indonesia is considering following Saudi Arabia and UAE in banning BlackBerry services. Indonesia wants RIM to set up a server locally so encrypted information sent by the phones will not have to be routed through RIM's overseas computers. They expressed concern that information could be intercepted or read by criminals or spies outside their country:

Motorola is apparently releasing an Android-based tablet soon that is closely tied with Verizon's FiOS TV service to give it a competitive advantage over other tablets. FiOS subscribers can watch all of their TV channels on the 10-inch screen and the device is expected to be thinner and lighter than the iPad. The tablet will also be able to provide a wireless data connection with other devices and will have 2 cameras (1 for photos, 1 for video conferencing)...so, the tablet will serve as a TV and an access point:
