It has been found that an extremely high percentage of kids who develop autism were exposed in the womb to medications such as thalidomide (a sedative), misoprostol (ulcer medicine), and valproic acid (anticonvulsant). Uzbekestan is being accused of having its doctors sterilize women without their knowledge or consent, in an attempt to prevent overpopulation from fueling unrest:
