Tokyo researchers developed a paint that absorbs all radio signals transmitted up to 100 GHz. This could be used by homes to prevent neighbors from using their WiFi, movie theaters to prevent cell phone signals for people watching a movie (great application!), and enable hospitals to keep their patient data secure. Unfortunately, it may not be able to be used to stop prisoners from talking on cell phones in their prison cells because there are too many protests against that:

Clearwire's CEO mentioned several times over the past month that Clearwire might switch to LTE, but it turns out that Intel's investment in Clearwire requires them to use WiMAX. I can see why Intel might not want Clearwire (and all of the spectrum it owns) to be used for LTE:
