SoftBank increased its offer for Sprint by 7.5%, so now SoftBank is offering $21.6 bil while Dish is offering $25.5 bil...but Sprint says they have ended talks with Dish because they do not think that Dish can beat SoftBank's offer. Instead of paying Sprint investors $7.30/share, SoftBank will now pay them $7.30/share SoftBank is giving more money to Sprint's shareholders because their offer reduces the money that Sprint will get from $8 bil to $5 bil, so Sprint will have $3 bil less to upgrade its network and buy more frequency spectrum:
