The US government is spending at least $890k on service fees for bank accounts that have nothing in them!  The federal government has 13,712 bank accounts with a balance of $0 and the government has to pay $65 per year per account.  The accounts haven't been closed because nobody has bothered to do the paperwork yet:

MetroPCS shareholders approved the merger with T-Mobile, so the #4 and #5 carriers in the US will merge on May 1:

Wavii and Summly were startups competing to have the better new summary app, but Yahoo bought Summly a few weeks ago and Google just bought Wavii (Apple was also in acquiring Wavii to improve Siri) for $30 mil in cash. Both startups were enhancing how consumers experience news and both Google and Yahoo have popular news sites:

Michigan's head coach came up with a great way to convince their students to attend football games that kickoff at noon (the students prefer that games start later on Saturday)...he is giving free donuts to the students who go to the game!
