LOTD for March 6

The TSA announced that starting next month they will allow passengers to carry knives and other formally banned objects onto airplanes.  The flight attendants union is upset about this...and is there a need to allow knives on airplanes?

Chinese government institute criticized Android's dominance on the smartphone market, saying that China relies too much on Android.  They say that Google is using its smartphone dominance to discriminate against Chinese companies.  The Chinese government hasn't exactly been a fan of Google ever since Google stopped agreeing to censor their web searches in China:

The European Union Commission fined Microsoft $733 mil for breaking their agreement to give Windows users the option of choosing another browser instead of having IE automatically installed.  The EU never fined a company before because no company ever broke an agreement with them!  Microsoft said that it was a "mistake":

It is nice that Microsoft backed down from the crazy rule they tried to implement with Office 2013--Microsoft's policy until today was that if you owned a copy of Office 2013 and you computer died, you couldn't transfer your owned copy to you new computer, you had to buy a new copy for your new computer:
