LOTD for February 14

OpenSignal's testing found that AT&T's LTE network was the fastest, with 13 Mbps for download speeds.  MetroPCS was last with just 1.2Mbps for their LTE network, not surprising when MetroPCS uses a 5 MHz channels while their competitors have 20 MHz channels.  Verizon's LTE download speed was second (10 Mbps), followed by Sprint (7.7 Mbps).  PCWorld found last year that AT&T has the fastest 4G download speed (9.12 Mbps), but RootMetrics found later that year that Verizon's network has passed AT&T with 13 Mbps downloads.  The average LTE download speed in the U.S. was 9.6 Mbps, slightly below the global average of 10.4 Mbps.  Sweden has the fastest LTE (22.1 Mbps) and Japan has the slowest (7.1 Mbps):

Man has been arrested for stealing the identities of over 1,000 people (450 active-duty or retired US military personnel) to activate cell service accounts with AT&T and T-Mobile, making *$8 mil* in fraudulent cell phone service charges over 12 years:
