LOTD for January 25

Article about how Apple dumping Google's YouTube from iOS 6 will end up making Google *more* money.  About half of iOS 6 users have already installed the recently released YouTube app.  Apple prevented Google from having YouTube show ads when it was a part of iOS, which limited the content Google could show and prevented Google and YouTube users from earning money from ads.  The Gangnam Style YouTube video has already generated $8 mil in online ad deals and is still getting 7 mil to 10 mil views a day--but now Google can make money off viral videos watched by iPhone users:

Nokia's CEO says that the U.S. is a key market for Nokia's turnaround...which is why Nokia's stock tanked after Nokia revealed that they sold only 700k smartphones during the holiday 4Q in North America--analysts had predicted at least 1 million Nokia Lumias would be sold, which would have been just a fraction of Android smartphones and iPhones:

Nokia denied speculation that they would release Android devices, saying that they will stick with Windows Phone and plus some Asha devices:
