DARPA-funded project has developed an automatic garment production system, where robots do the work that humans normally do in sweatshops. This could save a significant portion of the billions that the military spends on garment production...and apparently could result in cutting and sewing at costs less than in China:

Members of the House urged the FCC to look into letting LightSquared use DoD spectrum for its wireless network:

Analysts don't give RIM much of a chance to survive for long. RIM's market cap was $84 bil in 2008 and is just $5 bil today. RIM is at the point that some company could buy it to sell off its assets at a huge profit. RIM's portion of the Nortel patents are estimated to be worth about $2 bil, RIM's corporate enterprises and analysys are worth $3 bil, RIM has $2.1 bil in cash, etc.:
