LOTD for May 9

Column questions Microsoft's strategy that appears to be for Windows to survive, the iPad has to lose. Microsoft has tried for more 12 years to sell tablets and has sold less than 2 mil tablets...while Apple sold 70 mil iPads in about 2 years. Microsoft is trying to discourage iPad purchases by refusing to make Office or SharePoint work on the iPad (or Android tablets)...the article points out that Microsoft could be making a lot of money from selling Office and SharePoint on the iPad, and other apps will emerge for the iPad that will fill the need that Office and SharePoint fill right now, creating a competitor with wide distribution to those Microsoft cash cows:

Here is a good example of what I mentioned above--CloudOn is a *free* app for Android tablets that lets Android tablet users access Dropbox, Box, and Google Drive and create/edit Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents from anywhere they have an internet connection!  The free app also has Adobe Reader built in and allows for viewing almost any type of file (PDFs, PNGs, GIFs, etc.):

I think that it is pretty odd that Google released a huge update to their Google+ app...and that it is only available to iPhone/iPad users, with no Android version for awhile:

23-year-old Nebraska man legally added Tyrannosaurus Rex to his name--he entered the courtroom as Tyler Gold and left as Tyrannosaurus Rex Joseph Gold:
