Two British men that have been completely blind for years have had pat of their vision restored after getting pioneering eye implants, now able to perceive light and even some shares:

Researchers are excited about a new eye implant that is powered by light and could give sight to the blind with a simple surgery. The new implant has higher pixel densities and may restore more vision than other retinal prosthetics being works on:

NBC is *not* happy about Dish Network's new DVR, which automatically records the prime time shows for all 4 TV networks and keeps them available for 8 days on the DVR's hard disk. Users can still record 2 non-network shows simultaneously when the prime time shows are being recorded, but they don't ever need to set their DVR for the network shows. The feature that NBC is unhappy with is the "Auto Hop" option--if customers select that option, all commercials are skipped automatically when the prime time shows are watched:
