Windows Phone Developer lead is leaving Microsoft to be the Director of the Amazon Kindle Cross Platform team, where he will work on the product development roadmap for all Kindle apps worldwide:

School district in Virginia (near DC) started arresting parents whose kids were tardy too often. First they issue Class 3 misdemeanors, which can bring a fine of up to $500 that is forgiven if the parents stop bringing their kids late to school (the family featured in the article had their kids late 30 times this school year, about 1 every 3 days). If things don't improve, the parents are arrested on Class 1 misdemeanor charges which bring up to 12 months in jail:
