LOTD for June 3

There are normally 11 tropical storms with 6 of them becoming hurricanes in the Atlantic each year, but this year the computer models predict 17 tropical storms with 10 hurricanes:

Proposed rules by the Obama administration would allow airline passengers to cancel reservations within 24 hours of making them without penalty and collect up to $1,300 in compensation for being bumped from an overbooked flight! Consumer advocates are happy of course...the airlines feel quite differently about the proposed rules. The rule they seem to object to most is the fine for stranding passengers on airport tarmacs more than 3 hours:

HP's CEO says that they didn't buy Palm to get into the smartphone business. He says they bought Palm for its WebOS software that can be added to HP devices:

Skype will charge iPhone users for calls made over AT&T's network but will *not* charge Verizon's smartphone customers to make calls with Skype. Skype would not answer the question about whether or not AT&T is getting some of the money that they will be charging. It took a long time for Skype to get approved to run on iPhones...maybe Skype had to agree to this to get on the iPhone?
