Both the Republican party and Democratic party are unhappy that Prop. 14 passed in California and will challenge it in court. Prop. 14 eliminates party-specific primaries, so the top 2 vote-recipients will face off in the general election. This could mean that some elections would be Democrat vs. Democrat or Republican vs. Republican, and other parties could be completely eliminated from the general election ballot!
