Analyst said that AT&T needs to spend $5 billion ($7 billion if you include backhaul) to upgrade its wireless network to catch up to what Verizon has now (of course, Verizon is getting LTE later this year, a year or more before AT&T). He points out that part of the problem is that AT&T invests about twice as much in its *wired* infrastructure than in its wireless network, even though it gets much more of its income from wireless (57%) than from its wired services (35%):

Apple's rivalry with Google has resulted in talks between Apple and *Microsoft* to replace Google search with Bing on the iPhone. Considering the years of fierce rivalry between Apple and Microsoft, it is really strange to me to read that...and considering how closely tied the iPhone is with Google Apps, it would be uncertain how much Microsoft would be replacing beyond the search engine:
