The incident when the plane was about to land in Detroit has resulted in new security measures for all US-bound flights. Passengers must remain seated during the final hour of the flight, cannot get to their carry-on baggage, and cannot have personal belongings or any other item on their laps. They also added pat-down searches in at least some countries. No in-flight entertainment for the final hour of the flight is pretty sad. Having just 1 check-on bag allowed means that the airlines will make more money on checked baggage:
