The Navy wanted a large fleet of Littoral Combat Ships, where each was supposed to be affordable and have "plug-n-play" mission modules to allow it to be reconfigured into different configurations. The ships were supposed to take 2 years to build and cost $223 million each...but they ended up taking 4 years to build and over $700 million each. Twice the time and more than 3x the money!

"Massive error" in the wording of a 2005 Texas constitutional amendment to ban gay marriages might have accidentally invalidated *all* marriages in the state of Texas since 2005!
