Texas company demonstrated (at full power!) a prototype of an ion engine that could be used to maintain the orbit of the Space Station or get astronauts to Mars in a month. Conventional thrusters use 7.5 tons of propellant each year for the Space Station, which could be reduced to 0.3 tons of argon per year...given how expensive it is to get fuel into orbit, this could save the Space Station a lot of money:

New research demonstrated that it is possible to communicate between people through the power of thought alone. The demonstration was with two people that communicated via thought over the internet...this first demo was fairly limited, but the possibility to be able to communicate over the internet via thought opens up an amazing number of possibilities:

More than 10% of women develop depression during pregnancy, so many are treated with antidepressants. Unfortunately, a study found that pregnant women who take antidepressants are more likely to give birth early or to have newborns that need time in a neonatal intensive care unit. However, the depression is bad for the Mom and baby, so researchers say that the pregnant women should still take antidepressants in many cases...it would be nice if they studied the babies to see if the antidepressants had any effect on baby development and health:
