Cow manure can be found in drinking water around the country, which can contain E. coli and other contaminants. The Bush Administration passed regulations that enable dairy farms to self-certify that they won't pollute in order to avoid all regulation, which hasn't helped the situation. An estimated 19.5 million Americans fall ill each year from waterborne parasites, viruses or bacteria. One cow produces as much waste as 18 people, and unfortunately some of that waste is getting into our drinking water!
