I'm surprised that the federal government has made more than $4 billion in profits from bailout funding. Hopefully Citigroup and Bank of America do not fail and the taxpayers can see some benefit from this profit:

There had been a concern that first round of broadband stimulus funding wouldn't have enough applicants because the major wireless carriers refused to apply due to the open access rules. However, there were almost 2,200 applicants requesting nearly $28 billion in funding (and including $10.5 billion in matching funds), so the competition will be strong for the $4 billion total funding available in this round:

Apple has sold 10 million iPhones (including the 3G and 3GS models) in the US since its introduction in 2007, with about 4 million of those iPhones sold to new AT&T customers--that is about 5% of AT&T's total number of customers. This analyst found that the deal has benefited Apple far more than AT&T, especially considering that some of those 4 million customers may switch to Verizon when they get the iPhone soon:

With Apple transitioning to a model where they have the iPhone on multiple carriers in each country, these analysts think that Verizon will get the iPhone next summer. Apple has 40% market share in France where it is on multiple carriers, where it has 15% market share in countries with exclusivity deals:

Police had to smash a window to rescue a 12-month-old boy who was left inside a locked, hot car while his father shopped for groceries yesterday afternoon. Someone walking nearby her the child crying and noticed that the car was locked with the windows rolled up--it was HOT yesterday in Escondido and I'm glad that boy is okay. The father was arrested on felony child endangerment:
