Raytheon was awarded $24.4 million (which could grow to $155 million) to develop the key technology to link the various military wireless networks. This is the next generation of DARPA's Network Centric Radio System. The goal is to create unit that costs $60k each for a volume of 1,000 units:

The hotness of a chili is measured in SHUs, with a bell pepper rating a zero, jalapeno or Italian peperoncino under 5,000, and the bhut jolokia at 1,001,304 SHUs. Elephants have been a big threat to the India Army's camps, with elephants ignoring electrified fences...but even elephants are apparently afraid of bhut jolokia!

Interesting review of Google Voice...I love that it e-mails voicemails and transcribes the voicemails and sends them as text in e-mails:

ESPN is going after sports coverage for selected cities right now, even expanding all the way to high school sports for each city. The local ad revenue is declining, a huge problem for newspapers...and now ESPN is going to compete with newspapers for that money:
