Bluetooth 3.0 is coming on April 21, with faster speeds (up to 480 Mbps), greater reliability, and even allowing Bluetooth to run over WiFi:

The Somali pirates foiled the US captain's escape attempt and the US Navy is still closely monitoring the lifeboat he's being held on without an opening to attempt a rescue. It is sad that French parents decided to use their life savings to buy a yacht to show their 3-year-old boy that he didn't need material things to be happy, but their trip ended in their kidnapping by Somali pirates and the death of the boy's father...they said on their blog that they thought the media was exaggerating the piracy threat:
